In 2012, LUCEM successfully developed a medical rotating X-ray Tube for human diagnosis for the first time in South Korea.

LUCEM Co., Ltd. started developing X-ray Tubes in 2008 at LG Electronics' CRT Research Center based on research center’s manufacturing technology. When LG Electronics' CRT Department closed in May 2010, the X-ray Tube project was spun off from the department. Later, LUCEM succeeded in developing the first medical rotating X-ray Tube for human diagnosis in Korea.

Since then, LUCEM received approvals from CE, CSA, and FDA for domestic and overseas sales, and it is currently expanding the sales of medical X-ray tubes all over the world including South Korea, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia based on continuous R & D activities.

LUCEM tries to create a momentum to become a leader in the X-ray Tube industry by radically transforming the market structure dominated by existing foreign companies based on the expansion of business areas to various fields including tubes for mammogram, CT, and industrial purposes. We expect to develop the world's first X-ray Tube for human body irradiation equipped with carbon nanotube(CNT) through technical cooperation with the ETRI.
